While I cannot really say which one I like better, I can say for sure that changing between them (as I use both the H7 and H6 on a regular base) is somewhat annoying. Especially the Time Lapse settings (frames per time interval) are completely different so it’s hard to set both cameras the same.
- The GoPro 7 increases in temperature causing intense heat when shooting in 4K for a long time. The battery capacity is not pleasing either.
The GoPro 6; Battery Span
The GoPro 6’s battery capacity is not pleasing at all. According to the company’s official statement about the GoPro 6 camera, the device (untouched) lasts for under two hours, more specifically one hour and 40 minutes. Thus in its utility, it drains off barely in one hour of its operation especially in the times when the weather conditions are unfavorable.
Tips for longer performance
- Turn off advanced features such as voice control, Protune, and the camera’s LCD display.
- Refrain from using the remote as much as possible.
- Always update the firmware when necessary.
- Always have a replacement battery in order to replace the battery inside the camera at hand especially when you plan a long trip.
Unfortunately, the battery span of the GoPro 7 is not really different as it is not pleasing as well. No improvement. What this connotes is that the compact and portable nature of this brand simply cannot meet up with quality standards. To avoid this kind of embarrassing disappointment and for the sake of professionalism, always have a spare battery in order to replace the battery inside when it runs out.
GoPro 6: Value and Price
When the GoPro 6 was first launched, the price was high and still remains a very expensive gadget. The action was sold for around $499, but then its average price was lowered $100. It still remained a very expensive gadget making it generally unaffordable.
